Terms of Use
Effective date: January 13, 2026
supercedes previous policy
These Terms of Use govern access to and use of AriArmstrong.com, SecularHomeschoolersOfColorado.com, ColoradoFreedomInstitute.com, and any other website or online publication owned or operated by Ari Armstrong (collectively, the "Sites").
By accessing or using the Sites, including by submitting comments or other materials, you agree to these Terms of Use.
1. Changes to Terms
These Terms of Use may be updated from time to time. Changes become effective upon posting. Your continued use of the Sites after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
2. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise noted, all original content published on the Sites—including text, graphics, logos, and images—is copyrighted by Ari Armstrong.
Certain names, logos, and marks associated with the Sites, including "Ari Armstrong," "Secular Homeschoolers of Colorado," "SHOC," "Colorado Freedom Institute," "Self In Society," and related logos and publication titles, are trademarks or service marks of Ari Armstrong, whether registered or unregistered.
Nothing in these Terms restricts lawful fair use, including quotation for purposes of commentary, criticism, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, or research.
3. User Submissions and Comments
If you submit a comment or other material to Ari Armstrong through the Sites or related platforms, you grant Ari Armstrong a non-exclusive, perpetual, royalty-free license to publish, reproduce, edit, and display that material, in whole or in part, in any medium.
You retain ownership of your submitted content. You are solely responsible for the accuracy, legality, and content of what you submit.
Comments and submissions are published at Ari Armstrong's sole discretion. Submissions may be edited for length or clarity, or declined entirely, including if they are uncivil, off-topic, insubstantial, or disruptive. Anonymous comments are generally not published, absent exceptional circumstances.
4. No Warranties
The Sites and all content are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ari Armstrong disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, reliability, availability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
5. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ari Armstrong shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Sites.
In no event shall Ari Armstrong's total liability to any user for any claim arising out of or relating to the Sites exceed $1,000 USD.
6. Dispute Resolution; Governing Law
Before initiating litigation, the parties agree to make a good-faith effort to resolve disputes informally.
If a dispute is not resolved, either party may elect to pursue binding arbitration as the initial method of dispute resolution. Arbitration shall be conducted by a neutral arbitrator mutually agreed upon by the parties.
If the parties cannot agree on an arbitrator, Ari Armstrong shall propose up to three qualified, neutral arbitrators. The other party may accept any of those arbitrators or decline arbitration and proceed with litigation in court.
Nothing in this section prevents either party from declining arbitration and bringing an action in state or federal courts located in Colorado. This section does not impose penalties or adverse inferences for declining arbitration.
This agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of Colorado and applicable United States law.
7. Severability
If any provision of these Terms of Use is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
